The Maasai Mara is Kenya's most celebrated wildlife reserve — and for good reason. Home to the Big Five, vast lion prides, and the annual Great Migration of over 1.5 million wildebeest, the Mara delivers wildlife encounters of breathtaking intensity. Golden savanna, acacia-dotted plains, and the winding Mara River create a landscape that feels like the very definition of Africa.

Amboseli
Giants Beneath Kilimanjaro
Africa's most iconic image lives here: vast elephant herds moving in silhouette against the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. Amboseli's open plains and seasonal swamps support some of Africa's largest elephant populations, studied by researchers for over 50 years. The views of Kilimanjaro at sunrise are among the most photographed scenes on the continent.

Tsavo East & West
Kenya's Vast Red Wilderness
Together, Tsavo East and West form Africa's largest protected area — a raw, ancient landscape of red-dusted elephants, lava flows, baobab forests, and the life-giving Galana River. Less crowded than the Mara, Tsavo rewards patient travellers with an untamed, frontier-era safari experience. The famous Tsavo lions — large, maneless, and formidable — still roam these plains.

Lake Nakuru
The Flamingo Lake
Lake Nakuru is one of Kenya's most visually spectacular parks — a soda lake that turns pink with over a million lesser flamingos, creating a shimmering horizon unlike anything else in nature. The park is also a critical sanctuary for both black and white rhino, making it one of the best places in Africa for rhino sightings. Rothschild's giraffe, buffalo, and leopard complete the picture.

Northern Frontier
Samburu
Kenya's Hidden Frontier
In Kenya's arid north, Samburu National Reserve harbours species found nowhere else on Earth — the reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, Beisa oryx, and Somali ostrich. The Ewaso Ng'iro River draws wildlife to its banks in a landscape of acacia scrub, dry riverbeds, and dramatic inselbergs. Samburu is wilder, more remote, and less visited than the southern parks — a true off-the-beaten-track adventure.

Hell's Gate
Walk Among the Giants
One of Kenya's most unique parks — Hell's Gate is one of the few places in Africa where you can walk and cycle freely among wildlife. Towering volcanic gorges carved by ancient rivers, geothermal steam vents, soaring lammergeier vultures, and herds of zebra and buffalo create a landscape of raw geological drama. The park inspired the scenery of Disney's The Lion King.
